About R&R Cottages

Our properties are in Central Wisconsin about 20 minutes from eachother. There are two cottages to choose from that are in dairy farm country, located between Eau Claire and Black River Falls. This is a unique geological area known as the driftless area. It is characterized by beautiful hardwood and pine covered ridges that decorate the landscape, creating beautiful views everywhere you look.

Our Farm House is located on 200 acres of land interwoven with trails for hiking, which meander throughout rolling green fields and wooded hills.

R&R Cottages also has another property nested on Lake Arbutrus. This vacation setting provides lovely places to hike, bike, and play on the water.

The Farm House

This modern manufactured home is privately situated on 200 acres amid forested ridges and green fields in Garden Valley. The home has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a modern kitchen. It has a large deck overlooking the fields and hills with a table and a large charcoal grill. There is a spacious yard which could host an extended family gathering. We have cleared and maintained miles of trails throughout the property for hiking and bird watching.

Imagine your family relaxing in the cozy interior of a cabin and looking out on a gorgeous lakeview. Find yourself admiring the beautiful pine and maple covered setting of a cabin situated on an expansive shoreline of Lake Arbutus. Enjoy your cup of coffee while viewing amazing mist filled sunrises from the secluded alcove of an expansive deck. Launch your own boat just a half mile away or make use of the dock for fishing. Explore the water in kayaks, canoe or a rented fishing boat. Hike or bike to high vistas on the Levis Trow Mounds Trails. Visit the beach just down the road and treat yourself to an ice cream cone. Explore the town of Black River Falls nearby and return to roast hotdogs and s’mores around a campfire in the evening.

Susan and Randy were wonderful host during our stay at their Lake Arbutus home. The lake home is very clean and beautifully remodeled and decorated. The home is a large property on the lake providing plenty of space to enjoy family and friends. The lake side of the home had many large windows which provided fabulous views of the lake. The kitchen was well equipped and very well laid out with a large prep space and dining area. All of the bedrooms were decorated beautifully, and the beds were very comfortable. While staying at the home, we took advantage of the Levis Mound mountain bike trails about 2 miles away and the Elroy-Sparta bike trail within 1 hour. There were also many nice non busy roads near the cabin for walking. The lake has good fishing, a public beach nearby and is wonderful for boating. In the evening we enjoyed our friends and family around the large fire pit talking, star gauzing and roasting S’mores. Early mornings were spent on the dock providing beautiful sunrises and the quiet stillness of the lake.

We stayed at this lake home over the summer, and had the best time! It felt like a home away from home—so cozy, clean, and charming. It accommodated our large family with ease, and we were able to truly enjoy all that lake life has to offer. We fished, kayaked, swam, boated, grilled, sat around the fire, and just enjoyed a week of relaxation. I 10/10 recommend this little piece of lake heaven for your next trip!
